Sunday = Funday

If Sunday isn't my favorite day, I'm just not quite sure what is.

I woke up early and got some work accomplished (it gets better, keep reading).

Then went to church.

I saw on Facebook that Riley's was closing on Sunday and that the building was going to be knocked down. That brought tears to my eyes. It is a place I go quite regularly for breakfast on Sundays, and in the summer we would wind up there for pizza night on Monday's sometimes. I love that place. (Don't worry, they are just moving a block up the road--and there is already a new building only a block from my house.)

The waitress knew our order before we gave it. Coffee is one of our favorite parts--they buy all their coffee mugs at Goodwill so you never know what kind of mug you'll get. Plus they have baskets of yummy creamers. The owner came over and chatted with us for about 20 minutes. We were two of the last people in there!

Then, let the biking adventures begin. I bought a bike a couple of weeks ago but haven't been able to use it yet. Here are some shots from our ride, courtesy of Katie Sellers.

We ended up going through 3 towns--Hiawatha being one of them. We got on the Cedar Valley trail and ended up here.

Our ride found us accidentally in Robins, so we stopped for a photo op at this little stream. It was so gorgeous outside.

When we tried to get on the trail, there was a slight problem. It was blocked off. Luckily, someone had made this little opening for us. Whew.

We went to Robins...even though we had only intended on staying in our neighborhood. We also wanted to make sure we didn't exceed the speed limit.

Once we got back into Hiawatha, we got lost in a little neighborhood that has sidewalks inbetween the houses. We also bumped into this little stream and cooled off our arms.

Here's the crazy map of where we went. So much for a quick ride!

And this is the ride Miller & I did Monday evening. Rode downtown on the trail. A little sketchy during rush hour on 42nd street, but we survived.

What I've decided is: spring is exhausting. I've been in bed by 9:30 the past two nights. Whew!
