Day 1 vacation

My train ticket to Chicago, pear mojito, dinner and dessert! :)

But not in that order, and possibly blurry because I'm posting from my phone ;)

Weekend at Home

My mom, grandma and I ate here--it was Rock Fest day, lucky for us.

No trip home is complete without Starbuck's ice cream...

New favorite kind of tea--only I like the green tea with mint & honey better.

Picked these berries at my ma and pop's place. They are quite tasty.

Annnnd, sometimes ya gotta have two cones.

Acquisitions

I've acquired several things in the past couple of weeks: a new condo, a new kitty, and some new furniture, plus a Master's degree (made official with a diploma).

Here's my handsome little guy Pacino.

The cushion to my new chair, to see the colors...

The new couch...

The loveseat--with CUPHOLDERS!

The whole chair...

And two of the three tables...

annnnd the diploma. finally.

Summer Eats

My 3rd favorite summer meal (after BLT's & sweet corn) is a nice, tasty salad. I made this one last night...yum. I'm glad that I come from a family who grows their own veggies and that my Granny taught me how to make a salad--the more color, the better! And a glass of acai/blueberry green tea to go with= delish.

Condo

Welp, I bought a condo today! Obviously nothing is final until the financials go through...right now, closing is set for July 16. The link below has lots of pictures! WoWzAs!

Randoms from the Week

These are all kind of random shots of the rest of my week!

Had some spare time to read at the bank. Thankful for my iPad!

Gail played a little trick on me while babysitting my computer bag...

Here's the real button!

Tried out onstar in a friends new ride.

I could eat breakfast any time!

Found my name in the baby name book. I'm pretty great :)

A little warm for tennis...

Got a treat afterward!

Little warm in this house...

Bats & Bowling

Wednesday I had quite the adventures--the public library in Central City had a bat presentation. It just so happened I had to go to the library to put together a book list. We got there just as the bat lady was putting away the bats. She got them back out for us--after reassuring me 12,000 times that they couldn't fly. I don't like bats. Any. I won't even look at the at zoo. But the kids told me to get a picture, so I did. It gives me goosebumps just looking at the pictures!

Later on, the afternoon found us bowling. I got a turkey in the first 3 frames of the 3rd game! Nice!

Tuesdayyyy

This has been a lot of my nights recently...popcorn, Diet Coke lime and NBA playoffs. I hate the NBA, but I usually watch around playoff time. I'm cheering for OKC and Boston. I have never liked the Spurs, and I'm tired of hearing people say that Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan. No way.

Tea & Nails

Enjoyed myself this weekend with two of my favorite things: tea & painting my fingernails. My friend Katie introduced me to this new kind of tea, found at Target & Hy-Vee. It is quite possibly my favorite tea ever, which is something I wouldn't joke around about. Seriously, it has mint and honey--two of my favorite things! I also got the sweet black tea, but haven't opened that one yet. Y.U.M.

I never walk into Target without buying new nail polish. This time, I got some magnetic purple nail polish. The picture doesn't look too purple, but they are. You paint one coat and let it dry, then another and hold a magnet over them one at a time. They get this ripple effect. I can't stop staring at them!

Annnnd, this picture is actually from Memorial Day, but somehow I forgot it! We stopped at A&W and had floats. And found out that they make their own root beer there and that it is much better than what comes out of the fountain. These things were HUGE, though.

Family Tradition

On Thursday, Lindsay brought over cinnamon bread with cheez whiz and said she knew it sounded weird but that it was good. Sure enough, it was. Which reminded me of this little family tradition: crimp bread with cheez whiz and potato chips. I went to the store tonight and just happened to bump into the necessary items. However, instead of crimp bread I got this Amana english muffin bread, but it tastes and looks just like crimp bread. It was a tasty treat!

Memorial Day

On Memorial Day I went up to Cedar Falls to hangout with my family (at Wal*Mart, mostly). In between Wal*Mart stops, we made it out the cemetery in Finchford where my grandpa is buried, as well as my great-grandparents.

My brothers failed to mention that there is major construction, and the 4 lane highway was down to 2 lanes for many, many miles. Thus, I drove 5mph or less for about 25 minutes.

Back in Cedar Rapids, Sellers and I headed to Mulligans, my favorite summer place because they have a huge outdoor patio. We ate nachos, fried green beans and drank Moscato until 11:45pm before realizing we both had to work in the morning. Was a great ending to a great day! (Minus the Wal*Mart part)
