Lazy Weekend

Well, tonight I found a piece of metal sticking out of my tire. That's not so good. But thankfully there was a nice man who saw me struggling to change it and he came and put the donut on in less than 10 minutes. Turns out, he's a mechanic! I'm very glad he stopped to help--it would've taken me at least 45 minutes to change.

I also went to a Hawkeye basketball game today. Nothing like being at Hilton, but I like basketball enough to go. Plus the tickets were free, and we got breakfast beforehand.

This is what I wanted to be doing today--reading this book. It's called The War that Saved my Life. I started it last night and will hopefully finish it tonight.

I got this pretty sweet pink power ranger shirt in the mail. I'm going to wear it to the CR Comic Con in a couple of weeks!

Can you spot the cat? Apparently he was cold...

We took a little cookie dough break on Friday afternoon.

One of our office ladies brought me jelly beans--my favorite treat!

Beast!

Lunch was pretty much the best all week long. Salad, chicken patty, peppers, apples, pickles. One day there was even black olives. Yum.

Pacino knocked this over at 2:30am the other night. It's the humidifier that I bought to help him not feel so dry in the winter. This is the second one he's broken. And it spilled about a gallon of water on the floor in the middle of the night.

This is a cute list that a 3rd grade boy brought in to me on Tuesday. These are all the topics he wanted to find books about! They were words that he found in something he was reading that he didn't know much about, so he wanted to learn more! How cute is that?

Mostly Pictures of My Cat...

Got Orange Leaf the other night for the first time in awhile. It was a perfect Thursday night treat, and it turns out I have a $30 gift card--so it was free!

Pacino was pushing his tail down into the water to clean if off. I don't understand him...

My friend Becky sent me these nerdy socks that look like old school library checkout cards. They are awesome!

I sliced my thumb open trying to open up a banana peel the other day. My nail on my other finger must have been sharp!

Pacino got disgusted with the Cyclones and buried his head in his paws. That's how we all felt.

This is at the beginning of the game, when things were going well...

The cat loves the fireplace!

Catching Up

Cooked up some eggs in my new egg-tastic tonight. Not too shabby!

Forgot to wear my boots out to recess today...It was a bit slippery!

The Cedar Rapids Public Library is having adult coloring night ever first Monday of the month, so we checked it out. First of all, the caramel chai tea latte that I had was one of the best things I've ever drank. The coloring was fun too, and there were actually quite a bit of people there!

Also on Monday, Christie & I wore the same outfit to school! Ha!

I wore black/gold (as much as possible, anyway) on Friday to show support for my Hawkeye friends during their bowl game...which obviously didn't go so well for them. On Saturday, it felt good to be back in cardinal and gold!

Pacino prefers the Cyclones, too.

I also went to see the new Star Wars movie, even though I've never seen any of the other ones. Not sure it was my favorite movie or anything, but it wasn't too bad.

We rang in the new year by building a human pyramid...didn't you do that?

Here's our group selfie from the new years party.

I made some chocolate fruit dip for the NYE party which required me to use a new attachment on my KitchenAid mixer! The dip turned out pretty good!

I went to take this blanket to Goodwill, and Pacino decided to make it his bed, so I couldn't take it just yet...

We enjoyed watching Cyclones destroy Coppin State.

Can you spot the cat?

And of course, some gingerbread men.
