Recap

I'm actually sitting on my couch right now. It's kind of a small miracle. So, here are some pictures to sum up the last week(ish).

I've had a great week and I was craving some ice cream tonight after school, so I stopped in to get some at Parlor City on my way home. I deserve it, right?!

Speaking of craving, last Sunday I was wanting these muffins that my mom makes. So she sent me the recipe and I whipped some up. Of course, mine weren't nearly as good, but they weren't terrible!

This tea cost me almost $70, but the more I drink it, the more I think it was worth it. It's that good.

I ran out of coffee creamer the other day, so I had to make milk and a sugar packet do. Creamer is so much better.

Went up to Central City to watch some volleyball on Tuesday night. Fun!

Then, at 9:45 Tuesday night, I went wandering through Wal*Mart. Usually I don't go there after dark, but I made an exception because I needed coffee creamer and chalk for Wednesday at school. I found lots of other goodies too. Which is weird for Wal*Mart.

I have this new sweater with whales. I love it.

I forgot to take a picture during the volleyball game, but I took one after.

This was the sunrise on the way to school yesterday. So pretty!

Last night I set out on a walk. It was sprinkling and the sky was purple and the radar was covered with green, so I walked around my block a few times. I needed some fresh air after sitting in meetings all day.

No post is complete without Pacino. Isn't he super handsome?!

Celebrate!

We went out in Stone City Sunday evening to celebrate Meejin's 40th birthday!

No better way to celebrate than with a wapsirita--Cyclone gummy worms included!

Group shot! I miss these people SOOOOO much!!

This is how we watched the 1st quarter of ISU vs Iowa...on the 13 inch computer instead of the 50-something inch TV.

And here's how we celebrate WINNING the game! Cyclones forever!

Sorry for the lack of posting--school has been nuts! Check out what's going on at school by clicking here.

Garth Brooks!

Last night was one of the best nights ever! We saw Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood in Chicago, and it was everything I've always dreamed it would be since I was a kid. It was the type of concert where no one ever sat down. There were a few people who sat during one Trisha song, but other than that almost everyone was standing the whole time. It was soooo loud, and I was screaming just as loud as anyone, of course!

It was quite the journey, but we made it and it was AMAZING. Our seats were in the 3rd row balcony, which weren't too bad, but the pictures didn't turn out too well. I got a few decent shots. And I took some videos, but Garth's people take those down from the internet pretty fast, so I'm not even gonna try to post them. These pictures are all out of order, but that's okay...

This was my midnight snack in the train station. Our train left at 12:40am. We got home a little after 2am. Public transportation is nice, but not always timely.

And this was on the drive out, while I was stopped at a toll booth. The Cyclones played the best 2nd quarter ever, but forgot about the other quarters, apparently.

Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots...

After the show we got some ice cream to help sooth our throats.

Boots on the train. City slicker.

We had some time to kill, so we found a nice little patio overlooking the river downtown.

Some of these pictures might be repeats, but they're worth it.

And, after our 5 hours of sleep, breakfast at Nosh. This french toast is to die for.

Before the show--so excited!

After the show--exhausted. And that was before the 6 hours of traveling back home.

And, Garth now has ALL of his music on sale for $30. All of it. So, naturally, I bought it. :)

Jennifer Nettles in Chicago!

Last weekend I got to go see Jennifer Nettles in Chicago! We ended up standing about 4 rows from the stage which was great! The concert wasn't as good as when it was Sugarland, but it was still so good to hear her sing.

This is a 12 string guitar that I wish I could have. We jammed out in the music store for awhile. The sound on this thing is incredible.

And this is the mandolin I almost bought. It was more in my price range, but I don't think I'd use it often.

We went to a baseball game! These are teams that the CR Kernels play against. I love going to minor league games.

Here we are! Baseball selfie!

There was a gymnastics(ish) team that did a bunch of fun stunts after the game. They were FLYING!

This french toast is to die for. Orange zest & glaze. Yummmm.

And, I can't JUST eat french toast. I need the eggs, bacon, and pears to go with it.

There were also fireworks after the game!

This was breakfast on Saturday morning--truffles, cake, gelato...only on vacation!

This guy was missing me all weekend.

I got ALLLLLL this jewelry and the scarves at Charming Charlie. My favorite store that is nowhere near Iowa.

And, a Grannyism from my tea that I like to drink--don't sit too close to the tv. Sounds familiar ;)
