Holidays

I made this family version of the game Guess Who. It is way better than the original, if I do say so myself.

The sun was finally shining the other day. That's a small miracle right now.

Pacino just loves Christmas.

He was also very interested in my Dr. Pepper slushie which he promptly knocked on the floor. Don't worry, I didn't actually want to drink it anyway.

Bowling! Went bowling with these fun ladies last week. We didn't play real well, but we looked good. I also went bowling a different night and scored a 148--my personal best, I think.

This little preschooler and I had the same shirt on! He also said his dad wore the same shirt that day.

Sick Kid

I went back to school today and found a gift card, a thank you, a chocolate bar, and a gift bag of lotion and bubble bath. Those were great to come back to after being sick two days! I also got a letter in the mail from my grandma that had 3 sentences, all about Iowa State beating Iowa. Usually her letters are 2-3 pages...I kept looking for more, but that was it! Along with some articles about "hour of code" which our school participated in last week. The three new pairs of glasses that I ordered on Cyber Monday came in today too! Red, blue, and tortoise shell...the trick is figuring out which ones to wear first!

Last Wednesday was wacky teacher day...so I wore a tutu of course! This is Amy and I showing our stuff! We are definitely the coolest library workers ever.

I spent a lot of time with this guy the last few days. Which is great when he's being cute like this.

Or when he's sleeping, like this.

On Thursday night I got myself up off of the couch and went to the theatre to see Santaland Diaries, based off of the book by David Sedaris. Our book club had read the book for the month of December. It was hilarious!

Thanksgiving-ish

This would really be much easier if I updated more often instead of having 20+ pictures to share...Maybe that should be my New Year's resolution!

Pacino is in love with this red wrapping stuff. He is always wound up in it!

Card "cat-alog"

Playing Simpson's Clue at Thanksgiving!

Me & Cowboy Cy. I love Cy!

Shopping in Target on Black Friday. We had to be ruthless!

Maxine not cooperating for the camera.

Pacino didn't really know what to make of my new decor...

I made some cinnamon roll bites using refrigerated biscuits--super easy and tasty!

Pacino is sad that football is almost over, but glad that he doesn't have to watch the Cyclones lose anymore...on to basketball!

I made potato soup the other day in the crockpot. It was the easiest thing ever: frozen hash browns, cream of mushroom, ham, corn, chicken broth, cream cheese, cheddar, and some seasonings. It was surprisingly good!

Pacino curled up in my arms.

He has never done this before...used the towel bar to climb the shelf!

His life couldn't get any better.

It was stinky feet day at school--kids didn't have to wear shoes, so I opted for slippers. It was Cyclone game day, so I had on Iowa State socks and my new red pants!

Cat. Cat sweater. Cat lady.

One of the office ladies was being a grinch and put this sign on my door. I showed her by putting this Christmas tree up.

Again. All wrapped up.

Lunch at Barn Happy today!

Watched the lighting of the Christmas tree at Green Square Park before the parade--seems they should have tested the lights a little better! One strand wasn't quite working.

The end of the parade:: Santa & a real live reindeer that I'm obsessed with every year!

Fun Filled, Work Filled Week!

This week was a crazy busy one. We had conferences at school, which meant late nights. Today has been for cleaning, relaxing and watching poor Iowa State lose another football game. And now, updating the blog.

Last night after school a bunch of teachers went to see Mockingjay for one of the 1st grade teachers birthday. We maybe had a little too much fun in the "line" playing the game Heads Up on someone's phone. We had lots of laughs and caused a scene--except no one else was in line, so no one else saw us! It was a great night!

Someone's been doing donuts in the teacher's parking lot....

Tammy, our building secretary, had her birthday this week! Somehow, we always end up in matching outfits :)

Me and Pacino. He just loves having his picture taken...

Last Sunday I went and watched the CC Robotics team. It was fun to see everyone again and watch some robots!

Pacino didn't quite know what to think of the snow...

Katie & I got to meet Chris August at the concert last Saturday night!

We saw Chris August, Big Daddy Weave, Group 1 Crew, and Dara MacLean. It was an awesome concert to add to my concert list this year!

Book fair was SOOOOO busy this week. We had great sales and I can't wait to see how much money we raised to buy new books!

Mostly Pacino & Pancakes

Fall/winter sunsets are my favorite!

Pacino was real tired the other night! We are currently in the same position right now, which is making typing a little complicated!

So last weekend, I wondered if I could eat breakfast for every meal. On Monday I tried out these cinnamon swirl pancakes. Holy cow. They were so good...but I'd hardly call them pancakes. They were more like eating butter and sugar with a side of pancakes. The swirl is made of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Then there's a cream cheese glaze on top, which is more butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. I think they were even better the next day for lunch, but I had to have a BIG glass of milk. Yum!

This is me and one of my buddies, Landon, at school. He is wearing my Cyclones earmuffs, and I've got his goofy hat on. It's been COLD at recess this week!

Two Weeks

It seems like 8,000 things have happened in the last two weeks (!) that its been since I've posted. That's why this is such a long post.

Frost! This frost last Saturday had me running late.

Running late for these! Mom, Marcy, Andi and I did some antique shopping in Cedar Falls. We also stopped to see the restaurant with the dolls hanging and to eat at Mulligan's.

Two weeks ago Katie and I went to see Tenth Avenue North & Phil Wickham in concert. I have seen Tenth Ave before, and they are good, but Phil Wickham really surprised me with how talented he is. He reminded me a lot of Ed Sheeran with how great he was with just his guitar and voice and nothing else. I was so impressed!

I was a little grouchy one day, so I decided that eating, drinking, snacking and hitting golf balls was the solution. Sure enough, it was!

I went to the doctor for my knee. I snuck this picture of the screen when no one was in my room. Verdict=tendinitis, a dorky brace, and potentially physical therapy.

At school, we decided to be I Spy books. This is Amy, myself, and Elaine in our I Spy shirts! It was a fun idea!

More things from the antiquing trip. I bought my mom her Christmas present and sent it on home with her, so that's one less gift to buy! This pineapple is something that my grandma used to have and my mom and aunt had to dust it every Saturday. We found the same one at one of the antique shops!

This is my Central City girls at Aaron's Halloween party. We had fun, as always!

On Tuesday night, I went to Coffeesmith's after school with a friend. Then, I went to Orange Leaf and had frozen yogurt for dinner. That wasn't the most healthy night!

Thursday night, I turned on the fireplace, drank tea, ate Chex mix and red the new Wimpy Kid book. I was also in bed by 9:45. Staying up until midnight the night before wasn't a very good idea!

One of my kindergarten friends and I had matching cowboy boots yesterday!

Me and Pacino are just too cute.

In other good news, it's basketball season! Go Cyclones!
